Can you please add the source link after the year?

For example, here's the 1994 version:

https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/10691898.1994.11910469

E. Jacquelin Dietz

J. Tim Arnold

Sevanne E. Person

Joan Garfield

J. Laurie Snell

These need to be made accessible and then added into a spreadsheet with year and role.

year role name
1994 editor E. Jacquelin Dietz

created another tab on our google spreadsheet for this

nicholasjhorton commented 2 years ago

I like that you added this to the spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MGvhHoNrxp3xxfhu7CHUdmxVMPAU1wvLUNY3DNldDvg/edit#gid=776978137 @sedelson31 can you please add in the 1994 data?

nicholasjhorton commented 2 years ago

@sedelson31 thanks for helping to move this forward. I'd encourage you to pick a later year or two so that we can find out if anything different is needed to scrape the data.

the links for the editorial boards from 2001-2011 are broken, can't find them past 2012 (with 2015 as the exception)

nicholasjhorton commented 2 years ago

@sedelson31 can you please confirm where you are finding 2015 and where you are looking for 2001-2011?

I can ask Eric Sampson about the T&F and later information.

sedelson31 commented 2 years ago

I found 2015 here: http://jse.amstat.org/jse_board.htm

The editorial boards for years pre-1999 are given in two places. The Taylor and Francis site and the JSE archive - in order to find them on the JSE archive, you scroll down the page to a volume for a year, and click "abstract." Once you are taken to the abstract page, scroll to the bottom and click "Editorial Board for Volume X, Number X." This can be done for years 1993-2000. When this is done for years 2001-2011, the "editorial board" link all the way at the bottom gives an error that the file cannot be found.

This is most helpful: can we talk tomorrow?

In the interim, if it's possible for you to grab 2021 (from the current website) and 2020 (from https://www.tandfonline.com/action/journalInformation?show=editorialBoard&journalCode=ujse20) that would be most helpful.

We will need to further discuss how to track down the other years.

sedelson31 commented 2 years ago

Will do.

Here's a link to 2013 (I'm not sure if there's a better one: I'd suggest closer to end of the year than beginning of the year): https://web.archive.org/web/20130825113843/http://www.amstat.org/publications/jse/jse_board.htm

Here's a link to 2014 (late in the year): https://web.archive.org/web/20141018000227/http://www.amstat.org/publications/jse/jse_board.htm

2013 appears to be Aug and the last save in 2013. See also #15 and #14

Are there any updates on this issue? Thanks in advance for any guidance, Nick

sedelson31 commented 2 years ago

I added 2013, 2014, 2020, and 2021 but still no luck with the other years. The other years give the same link as the place where the editorial board is listed (http://jse.amstat.org/jse_board.html) but it unfortunately gives an error message.
