What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Download dmg.bz2 image & double click to open. 
2.Double click .dmg to open. 
3.Receive fault message "disk image failed to mount." Reason "not recognized", 
repeat 3 times. 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Senior 
Staff 0.8, 2.0Ghz Mac,
2 processers, 2.5 Gb ram, 2-500 Gb SATA drives.
Please provide any additional information below.
