I think I was able to gather aIl of the points Vaughan mentioned in our meeting but if I missed any please feel free to add them:

High Level Voting Numbers -- examples:

• 76% of schools are more than 1 mile away from their nearest voting site

• 74% of schools don't have an early voting option on campus

• Make sure Numbers are for all types of in person voting access

Misc

• Focus on School / campus data for now while working on gathering population (more representative) data

• Starbucks / Target vs Polling place location comparison

Hi All,

One way that I would strongly consider you present these numbers to Vaughan is in a report with two pages. The first page is the 8-10 single sentence statistics that she and her team can choose from. Each statistic is then foot/endnoted with information that appears on the second page. Each of these foot/endnotes contains all of the qualifications about sample states, years, college data source, distance calculations, etc. that aren't already present in the statistic sentence. The reason to foot/endnote each statistic is that each of these are likely to have slightly different qualifications. If you try to create one lead paragraph with all of the information, small differences between statistics may get lost when they pull particular numbers. Keeping the qualifications with each statistic helps to ensure that both things travel together as these statistics move through the organization, press releases, etc.

In that vein of being able to define your sample, I think the two priorities I'd suggest before just picking stats are:

• [ ] What example was the +1 teams 3,000 school sample you're mostly working from? #84
• [ ] What state sample will we be using for 2020 election day given Alex doesn't have all states? #88
