macOS/x86 vs iOS/ARM performance #10

I'm working on script with a lot of primitives, in the order of 10,000–100,000. In macOS it takes minutes to open, but on iOS it's a matter of seconds. Is the performance down to OS differences, CPU architectures or something else? I'm wondering if an Apple Silicon laptop would achieve similar performance in macOS.

macOS 12.6 MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 16GB RAM AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GB

iOS 16.0 iPhone 12 Mini

Also a giant thank you for the app. After trying a number of alternatives recently, none were viable for various reasons, but ShapeScript is wonderful!

Interesting. Can you share the file? You can send it privately to support@charcoaldesign.co.uk if you don't want it public

@jaikdean the performance when working with large numbers of identical objects should now be significantly better on all platforms.

That’s an impressive speed boost! Thank you, it’s going to be a massive help for this project.Sent from my iPhoneOn 4 Oct 2022, at 11:30, Nick Lockwood @.***> wrote: Closed #10 as completed.
