API Gateway + Lambda Deployment for CAP6635 Remote Runs

Notes:

• Built an API to call lambda functions.
• Route53 + ACM --> API Gateway + Cognito --> Lambda
• Auxiliary services: Cloudwatch, IAM, S3
• General workflow (a bit of a hassle right now 😞)
  • Authenticate with Cognito (https://api.kamutiv.com/oauth2/token?grant_type=client_credentials)
  • Call API with token from Cognito (https://cap6635.kamutiv.com/...)
• Deploy new version of lambda function by updating S3_KEY with a version prefix (can be asynchronous).
• Two SSL certificates (+validation) are fully managed by terraform.
• API Gateway assigned custom domain.
• Cognito User Pool assigned custom domain.
• One IAM role is used to perform all functions.
• API Gateway calls to Lambda need to be POST; however, calls to API Gateway can be any.
• Terraform state managed by Terraform Cloud.
• I'm surprised by the lack of (RECENT) practical references + tutorials around API Gateway + Lambda.

I think this was a fun test case, but I don't see me using this work in the designed path. So.. closing for now.
