Brainstorm data sharing device

Primary use case:

• Sharing data during a presentation
  • Sharing calendar events
  • Bluetooth sharing device?
  • QR code to remote link?
  • ... hmmm...

Since Bluetooth is synchronizes device-to-device sharing, it doesn't seem practical to use for this use case. The logic would have to be something like this for it to work:

• Host computer has a scanning phase to query for all devices that want to download data
• For each device, the host computer connects and performs the file transfer
  • In my head, the connection does not need to be authenticated (but it just adds more certainty to the transaction).
  • With authentication, there would need to be some feedback loop to verify the devices involved (i.e. a human).

The QR code seems more logical. I'm going to write an integration tool to generate a QR code for some link dynamically. I just need to figure out the applications and how I want to call the script... I'm obviously going to customize the design of the code for my branding 😏

Using S3 as the storage backend seems appropriate, but working out the details on access control seems to be an open question.

Pivoting to server/client with qr code

Okay... we got a bit farther...

• Go server accepting post data for email collection
• QR Code generator qr "192.168.2.2:8080/email" > email_collector.png
• Need to work on routing (dns won't be able to break through firewall... and adding custom holes won't work either..) I don't want to deploy on the cloud.. it's meant to be a local program... I don't want to host on a home server, emails won't be easily accessible as it would be on the same local machine.
• Need to create frontend that will post to backend.

This would be a cool thing.. but I think hosting files for people to download and having a QR code for a direct download is acceptable for right now.
