Squeezelite on OSX : Speed of playback issue with bit-rate #37

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Play 16-44 file (OK sound)
2.Play 2496 file (Not OK -High speed, high pitch)
3.Play 16-44 file (Not OK - Low speed, low pitch)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
If bit-rate is changed, the speed of playback changes. If you stick with one 
bit-rate (when LMS is restarted), then its ok speed, unti you change song to 
another bit-rate again.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Local Player v1.2 (Squeezelite)
LMS 7.8
OSX Lion 10.7

Please provide any additional information below.
I run USB out of MAC Mini into a USB/Coax converter, then to DAC.
Same problem comes up if I output via HDMI to the TV instead

I understand this is related to issue #11:

But I could not understand the "work-around". Do I need to update PortAudio, if 
so, how?

Does it work ok with the built in audio device?  The work around was only for 
the device "Built-in Output", so interested if this is working ok.  The work 
around is to do resampling within OSX for everything - not sure if this is 
really the best route to get ultimate sound quality.

@mrpejer - this is a different issue - sounds like you are streaming as 
pcm/wav, in which case you will need server version 7.8 to go above 96k.  This 
is an LMS limitation not a squeezelite issue.

Closing as option added to allow osx to resample on all devices: -a :1 

This should resolve this - if no please reopen
