Duplication takes a long time #55

Takes a long time and excessive CPU usage. Seen with a virtual data set. Duplicating ~14,000 images each 0.5 MB in size took forever.

The reason turned out to be that it takes time to read images from disk;) This was with a virtual data set. Duplicating involves reading the images from disk. Read speed was about 100MB/sec, which is not terribly slow for a spinning hard drive. The bigger issue is the lack of feedback (see #56)
