Installation guidelines not clear for non-coding people. #20

Dear Mr. Benton and Phelps,

My name is Daniel Rodriguez, I'm at my third year of my JA program at Mount Royal University in Calgary, AB, Canada. I'm writing to you in this occasion because I'm starting a news project with friends, and we are interested in using Fuego. However, our coding knowledge is very limited.

We consider that Fuego is an extremely powerful tool, and we would like to use it to help us complement our reporting in civic issues in our home city of Calgary. I've been looking for installations instructions with WordPress. However, I've fond none. I would greatly appreciate if you might provide us some directions of how to install Fuego. We understand we have to develop or own front end. For this we are going to use the tools shared here https://github.com/heinzehavinga/Fuego-Front-End.

However, we don't understand how can we create our own database for Fuego. Do we just upload all the files to our hosting service and specify with people do we want to track? We are very confused. We would appreciate if you could provide us with some direction in how to install Fuego.

Installing Fuego on WordPress is not really possible to do simply; there isn't a WP plugin for Fuego or anything like that currently (though I've been thinking about working on one). The problem is Fuego runs as a daemon, continuous in the background, collecting and analyzing tweets. WP just responds to any outside requests and serves a page (loosely speaking - it does have a pair of APIs that work slightly differently).

If you have some familiarity with PHP + have access to a VPS, you could set up the server to have Fuego run in the background and set up a page that pulls the necessary data. I did that once, it wasn't too bad.

Thank you for your response. I totally understand you about fuego not be installed directly in my website. I don't have familiarity with PHP+, and I have a hosting account with Bluehost.

That is exactly what I would like to do.

Is it possible to install fuego in my hosting account? And if it is possible, how do I install fuego in it?
