Hanging on import of CBZ files with old (ComicRack?) tags #21

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open some CBZ files with some legacy tags (no idea where they really come
from)
2. It's added to the list, but the import dialog is stuck
3. Have to Cancel the import (comic is loaded into the list anyway), then
restart importing
4. Repeat for each file like this

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Not hanging. Something about the xml tags is causing a problem at reading.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.1.9 on OS X 10.8.3

Please provide any additional information below.
I extracted one of these files, and found the attached ComicInfo.xml
Looks like somewhere, it had tags applied, but they aren't being read correctly
by ComicTagger
After canceling, the comic is in the list, and shows the checkbox for ComicRack
tags. But no tags are read or shown in the app
Not every CBZ that appears to already have ComicRack tags has this issue though.
Once the comic is in the list, I can remove the ComicRack tags, and work as
normal.
Biggest issue is the tedious and manual effort for importing them; especially
if you encounter a large batch of these kinds of files.

Thanks for uploading the XML file. In the case of this file, it looks like
ComicTagger was choking on an empty "CoverArtist" field. That will be fixed
in the next release.

Side note: I am surprised by the notes: "Data scrubbed from
http://www.comicbookdb.com/issue.php?ID=25971 by ComicInfo Version 0.20." I've
not seen this before. I guess this is from a plugin for ComicRack, but I've
not encountered it before. Do you know how long ago these files were
originally tagged by "ComicInfo 0.20"?

Interesting. I have no idea where these files even came from now (it's been a
while; it ended up being about 30 files like this). Now that I got them all
tagged manually, no way to know when they were first created.

Thanks for looking into it.

Closing this, as it's not been reported again.
