[Feature Request] Remove Messages, Emotes and Text related to BTTV. #3175

BetterTTV Claims: "BetterTTV enhances Twitch with new features, bug fixes, and reduced clutter." I would argue BetterTTV achieves the opposite of "reduced clutter" with the addition of "Custom chat emoticons".

To combat this I'd like to see a feature (Or even a new extension so i don't have to use BTTV. I'm just coming here because i have no choice, I'll explain further later.) that removes entire messages containing only an emote or multiple removes related to BTTV. This would greatly reduce the constant spam of gibberish messages, or even worse, emotes that i am sure throws more than me off and only serve to clog upp the chat making most conversations very hard or impossible to keep going.

I'd also like to see a feature or addition to the suggested new extension that hides the text in messages that is related to BTTV (the text you would see if you turned off emotes in settings). This would further contribute to a cleaner and more manageable chat.

Right now we are in a weird spot where your Extension is so widely used that it is used by almost every person that is actively using the twitch chat. Yet there is no option or way not to use it. If you don't use it your chat is spammed with gibberish, if you use it your chat is spammed with emoted. In the end this will serve to drive some people away from twitch as a whole, harming twitch's reputation.

I'd like to add that i am disappointed that i even have to write this request. Since the addition of BTTV and it gaining more users and influence it has only served to make the chats more "spammy" which ultimately serves to drive users away from the chat and the platform, harming the platform's reputation.

We don't dictate how users chat on Twitch, we only extend the feature set available to users. These users make the ultimate call what they say in chat, and what emotes to post (as well as their frequency). Twitch chat has been on the trend of incoherent spam in some large channels for years. Streamers dictate what is appropriate in own chat, and should rely on a bot to assist in moderation. Many bots, including Nightbot, can limit emote usage if so wished. If you're unhappy with chat quality in a particular stream, you should bring that up to the mods/streamer.
