I have lightly tested this prior to preparing the PR. I will do more rigorous testing if this PR will be merged. (Running with a DASH rPi simulator on my desk since 2024 March 18.)

Closing this because we are moving forward with using submodules instead of dependencies.

@marionbarker , I too think submodules is the way to go. But if replacing hardcoded instances of “Loop” in strings should prove to take some time, we might want to consider a release based on your work here as an interim solution?
