"The High Blood Glucose Warning Banner: Balancing Effective Alerts and User Control" #203

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. The High Blood Glucose (BG) Warning Banner is a feature that alerts users when their glucose levels are elevated. However, the current implementation does not display the warning banner when glucose levels are already significantly elevated, aiming to avoid repeated and potentially overwhelming notifications.

Describe the solution you'd like Introduce an option to allow users to customize the behavior of the High BG Warning Banner. Users should have control over whether they want continuous alerts when their glucose levels remain high. Additionally, integrate a "Silence with Time Choosing" feature, enabling users to temporarily silence notifications for a specified period.

Describe alternatives you've considered *1. Keeping the current system but adding an option to adjust the sensitivity and frequency of the alerts.

  1. Allowing users to set different thresholds for repeated alerts to better suit their individual needs.*

Additional context Providing user control over notification settings enhances the app's flexibility and user experience. It allows users to manage their alerts based on personal preferences, reducing potential frustration from repeated notifications while ensuring they remain informed about their health status.

Technical Details This feature would require modifications to the notification system to include user preferences for alert frequency and silencing options. The implementation should ensure that user-selected settings are respected throughout the app’s notification system.

User Impact This feature would benefit users who find the current notification system either too intrusive or insufficient. By providing control over alert frequency and silencing options, users can tailor the app’s behavior to better fit their daily routines and health management strategies.

Priority Level Medium – This feature would significantly enhance user experience by offering greater control over notifications without being critical to the core functionality of the app.

The High Blood Glucose (BG) Warning Banner is a feature that alerts users when their glucose levels are elevated. However, in this case, the warning banner will not appear when the glucose levels are high. This is because the system recognizes that the glucose levels are already significantly elevated and does not want to provide repeated notifications that may be unnecessary or overwhelming for the user.

On the other hand, the Silencing with Time Choosing Banner is a feature that allows users to temporarily silence or disable the notification alerts for a specific period. Of time. This gives users the flexibility to manage their notifications according to their preferences and schedules. By selecting the "Silence with Time Choosing" option, users can choose the duration for which they want to silence the notification banner, enabling them to focus on other activities without interruptions.

@WEBSALJR the template (in @Sjoerd-Bo3's message) should come up automatically when you submit a feature request. Is this not what you saw when you opened yours? https://github.com/nightscout/Trio/issues/new?assignees=&labels=&projects=&template=feature-request.md
