Thank you so much for including the new CFDE NOFO (RFA-RM-23-013) in the CFDE newsletter! We have a couple updates to the blurb:

You can remove the paragraph about the Letters of Intent – no Letters of Intent will be required, and the funding opportunity will be corrected to remove that requirement.

Please add that there will be an informational webinar on August 28th from 2-3 PM ET for any interested applicants to learn more about the opportunity and ask questions directly to the CFDE team. The registration link is here: https://bit.ly/CFDE_Partnerships_Webinar

Cross-Pollination Meeting

The next meeting is Tuesday, August 1st, at 2 pm ET/ 11 am PT. There is no July Cross-Pollination Event planned. Regular Cross-Pollination events take place on the first Tuesday of every month. HuBMAP Competition

Spread the Word! From May 22 to July 31, 2023 the 3rd HuBMAP - Hacking the Human Vasculature Kaggle Competition is live! The teams are tasked to develop machine learning methods to segment instances of microvascular structures, including capillaries, arterioles, and venules in 2D PAS-stained histology images from human kidney tissue slides. A total prize amount of $50,000 (sponsored by Google and Kaggle) will be distributed among the five winning teams.

CFDE Funding Opportunity

CFDE has announced a new Notice of Funding Opportunity (RFA-RM-23-013), which seeks proposals for projects that involve collaboration with multiple Common Fund Data Coordinating Centers (DCCs) to combine discovery and/or translational approaches with work that will enhance reusability of Common Fund data and contribute knowledge to the Common Fund Data Ecosystem. Proposed projects should improve the overall re-use potential of Common Fund data by developing and testing services needed to efficiently access, analyze, and, if necessary, integrate the data. Applications must involve a collaboration between at least two Common Fund DCCs listed in the Background section of the Notice and at least one external PI not currently funded by a CF program.

Meeting Updates

As we transition some of our services to new accounts there should be a flurry of new meeting invitations (especially for monthly and bi-weekly CFDE-DCC meetings). Please keep a lookout for updated invites in your e-mail feed to make sure you have the most up-to-date invitations on your calendar. Remember also that you can always rely on meeting agendas for links and scheduling, or contact the helpdesk (support@cfde.atlassian.net) if any issues arise.
