Working on a checklist for testing... Check boxes mean features worked as expected. See details below.

data submission features to test

[x] data snapshot graph is correct
[x] meta data connectivity / FAIR graph is NOT correct see comment
[x] data breakdown numbers are correct

portal features to test

[x] login works correctly
[x] data preview correct
[x] test data preview download (svg, png, csv) - works on firefox, not chrome, see comment below
[x] search for files, biosample, genes, etc. works as expected (e.g. no timeouts)
[x] create collections works as expected but see comment
[x] test save favorites works - does not quite work as expected see comment below
[x] confirm export bdbag works
[x] confirm export to NCPI csv works - failed for large search, worked quickly for smaller search, see comment below
[x] search by dbgap study id works
[x] test grey, yellow, green RAS circles appear as expected - works for josh

testing with synthetic data

[x] create a synthetic dataset for testing
[x] submit synthetic data to staging and test the features listed below

testing with older data for backwards compatibility

[x] download older submissions for backwards compatibility testing (list specific data packages)
[x] resubmit older submissions to staging and test the features listed below

Add comments and screen shots below for both successful and unsuccessful testing outcomes.

I think general testing on dev above is unnecessary during this release cycle. We should focus on testing the release candidate on staging. If we find a problem that needs dev work, we might do some testing on dev in coordination with the developer on a case-by-case basis.

collections are working as planned, but for the future it would be nice if a user could select all matching criteria to collection a new collection.

Example: I want to create a collection that contains everything uploaded by IDG.

I can create a personal collection, select link records, and select "IDG" under Common Fund Program, and select to display the first 200 records.

I can then click "Select all on page" and get 200 files added, but I would have to scroll to the bottom to the next page to select more records, and continue this process until I have all of the IDG files. It would be helpful if there was a "Select all entries in this search" button in addition to "Select all matches on page".

When saving favorites, I notices a few things.

the saved searches table is sorted alphabetically by default but I feel like sorting in reverse order by creation time would be nice. is that possible?
was a feature implemented to tabulate saved favorites, or are we letting the list grow long?
you can star your favorite anatomies from the biosample or file search pages but not from the anatomy page. is this intentional? or can favoriting be added to the anatomy page

Searched for all "Image" files to download to NCPI manifest, but the search timed out.

After I slimmed this down by selecting "Image" and "SPARC" the NCPI manifest downloaded quickly

there is a problem with the fair data on the submissions page. see the most recent submission https://app-staging.nih-cfde.org/dcc_review.html?catalogId=291

the table says that all 213,123 files have subjects but the graph says that 0 files have subjects

A belated addendum to the Favorites testing, but at least in my hands there seems to be no way to favorite Proteins (either in production or app-dev.) There's a tab for them on the personal dashboard page in both production and app-dev:

But the only place I see Protein listed as a facet is under Data Browser/Collection, and they don't appear to allow favoriting (note the lack of star on mouseover):
