We would like to request a new term; 'synaptosome' or, alternatively, ‘synapse’ as descriptor for data on N-glycans and glycoproteins in synaptosomal preparations (e.g., PMID: 34106099).
Our main problem is identifying a satisfactory placement of 'synaptosome' in a current CFDE terminology. OBI might be suitable for 'synaptosome', though OBI seems more concerned with assays. Alternatively, Uberon may be appropriate for ‘synapse’.
For assorted reasons (e.g., parent definitions, siblings, granularity), no entirely satisfactory placement of either term was identified in either structure; although possible parents were provisionally identified.
Your recommendations for the requested term would be very greatly appreciated.
