More Excel like row editing, TAB key moves edit cursor into next cell

Hi
This plugin is really cool (especially with different types of controls per 
column), but what I mostly miss, also in the bare datatables version, are 
features for a more excel like 'power editing' experience.
Following blog entry, would be a minimum version for what I want, to be able to 
quickly enter/edit a whole row of data, with a minimum of mouse clicks, here by 
making TAB key jump to the next editable cell.

Could such a feature be integrated in your plugin?

The 'ext js' has a great Grid component, that combines all these features, but 
I don't want to integrate the whole ext-js in my play framework webapplication, 
just to have a dynamic grid!

Hi,

You are right this is very cool feature. I have thought about this but nobody 
has asked for this feature up till now. 
I will consider his as an enhancement for some next version.

Hi, 

I'm working on some integration with key table plugin. You can see how it works 
on http://jquery-datatables-editable.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/keytable.html is 
this what you need. It is still "beta" so you might notice some issues but 
currently basic functionality works fine.

Let me know if you find some issue.

Thanks for thinking about doing a feature here.. the beta looks nice already!
Unfort. I already choose another lib (jqgrid) for this particular project.. but 
I might come back to your lib next time!

Hey Jovan,

I implemented the KeyTable as shown 
(http://jquery-datatables-editable.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/keytable.html), 
with a custom cell editor and it doesn't work. Any idea why?

Did this ever get implemented. My users continually tab from the cell rather 
than press return.
