Was the email sent via kindle-send visible in your outbox?
No, it is not. Forgot to check that obvious thing…
So apparently sending fails due an error, but silently and no indication is given to the user.
Can you help with the email provider, smtp server and port?
It's the mail server of my hosting provider Bitpalast:
trebel.bitpalast.net
465
SSL/TLS
(not STARTTLS
)Encrypted password
(not sure why it was setup this way, but Normal password
as alternative works as well, I just tested it)
I'm using kindle-send in version
1.0.2
under Windows.Problem: the generated EPUB doesn't reach my Kindle although the whole kindle-send run seems to be successful:
There's no error or warning message generated by kindle-send, just the following innocent output:
Of course the sender e-mail provided via the configuration is an approved one from Amazons point of view and may send documents to the Kindle (I was able to get the EPUB onto my Kindle by sending it from exactly that same address via a regular mail program…).
So for some reason the e-mail is generated and sent out (at least that's what kindle-send states), but doesn't make it to my Kindle 😕.
Is there any possibility to see more details here and get kind of a debug output? Is the e-mail not generated at all, generated with wrong metadata (and thus discarded by Amazon as the sender appears invalid for example) or is something else odd?
