As it turns out reports the demise of GLM were premature. Since it was determined that it is necessary for population synthesis, GLM needs to be supported, and that means that a proper loader need to be developed. Recommend we postpone this for 3.0 because it will almost certainly have at least some impact on syntax.

The parser for the loader is ugly and should be replaced with a proper parser. However, since the decision to retire the GLM format this may be moot.

With the 2.0 intent to deprecate and remove the GLM format, is this ticket relevant?
