                1.0 INTRODUCTION    

1.1 The Concept : Fall Arm is a remote patient monitoring strategy that enables care providers for remote management of patients risk of falling . During the recent years hospitals and care facilities mainly focused on technology for improving the assessment of people at risk of falling. Fall Arm is an ingenious technology to avert accidental falls among both hospitalized patients and the elderly, and to raise their awareness of responsible mobility. Not only Fall Arm prevents people from falling, it also stimulates the people at risk to a mobility aware. patients are correlated with a risk class which is determined by the constant activities related data captured by device. Patients can view their profile to know their risk of falling. hospital staff can log in to website to get full details about the incident or simply to view and update patient information the system reports any adverse events and alerts is sent to staff.

This project is classified into different technological parts :

A) Internet Programming : Internet Programming is to expand the client - server model where the device sensor will directly communicate with the server to provide the current generating data and this client interface will be used by the hospital staff to view, track patients status, and process the data. B) Network Programming : Socket Programming to enable communication between the client and server. It access data through signals continuously and then directly sent to the server after that server immediately sent alert signal to the hospital staff on fall detection. C) Database Programming : Database Programming is used to hold the data related to the system at the server . This will include information about the user profile of clients , the information received from the device. D) Software Testing : Based on two tests JUNIT and SELINIUM to test the entire project.

1.2 Background :

Fall Arm project was proposed by QIRIS (Quality innovation research instruction safety), a non-profit organization specialized develop oneself in innovative technology committed to social interests. They developed Fall Arm, a wearable fall prevention device especially suitable for the elderly and for confined patients. Fall arm has been recommended by several hospitals and Risk Management Organizations. Fall Arm project has been fitting as a Capstone Project for the course. This project will be Researched, Designed and Developed, to be submitted towards fulfillment of the degree requirements.
