Installation doesn't currently include GNU Patch, which is required to enable
VCS browsing.

I used the GNU patch from msysgit bin folder [1] and VCS worked just fine. I
copied it into meld's bin folder after downloading the zip. I also tested out
the patch binary from mingw-w64 msys binaries [2] and that also worked. There
are also patch binaries available from mingw32 [3], mingwbuilds and GNUWin32
[5] all on sourceforge.

Could you clarify what doesn't work without patch.exe? I didn't see any
difference whether it was there or not.

Damn it you're absolutely right, it works (with Git) perfectly without it! Ha!
I've been scanning through the meld vc package and it seems the only VC that
actually uses patch is CVS, so the jokes on me!

Although, with or without GNU patch.exe, I couldn't get VC integration to work
from the command line in any shell, even though git.exe is on my system path,
but I don't care. This set up you've put together kicks ass! I love it. Thanks!
