multiple words in searchbox not working #1

Open carplu opened 12 years ago

I downloaded and install search every things latest version on my wordpress setup because i had good experience with it a year or so back

anyway... i activated it, but when i enter a search term of 1 word it is ok, but when i enter more than 1 word, no results turn up...

also if i enter part of a word it will find the posts but when i exceed 1 letter e.g. breakfasts instead of breakfast... (have breakfast in tag) it won't find or show the post

what can cause these 2 major issues? if these would work it is the best plugin there is!!!

Are you sure the issue isn't with your theme or another plugin? I can't get any search to work on your site but all types of searches work fine on other test sites.

Also the plugin doesn't handle any type check for similar words or misspelled words. It would take more time to build than I have for the plugin.

carplu commented 12 years ago

could it be that it is on a multisite setup?... i used the plugin on the same theme before when it worked ok... this is an updated version of the theme and maybe theres the problem, i don't know

do you have any idea what i can do to get it working because i really would like to use this!

what i mean is, on my site:http://www.uiteteninnederland.nl i tagged a listing with the words: breakfast, bacon, amsterdam if i search for "breakfast", i get the listing, if i search on "bacon" i get the listing, if i search on "breakfast bacon" or "breakfast, bacon" i get nothing only the page that says found no results search on popular tags...

hi

i tested further and it seems that it handles multiple words when these are in the post description or title, it just does not search on multiple tags ( i mean this: you tag your posts with some words , all single words, if you put different words in the search field it will find no posts )

can that be done?

Sorry the plugin doesn't currently support that. I'm working on a rewrite and will try to add that in.

carplu commented 12 years ago
