Not launching after latest update on steam #482

Crash happens no matter what I try. Game runs perfectly fine vanilla.

Having this issue as well with re4_tweaks 1.8, however if I downgrade to 1.7.7.6 the game launches fine.

Thank you! That worked perfect, I actually just reinstalled the whole HD mod and unchecked the option to download the newest version of RE Tweaks which downloaded 1.7.7.3 but that still works. It would be nice to get a real fix for the newest version though.

Does 1.8 work fine if you disable Vulkan? Looking at the log, it seems to be crashing somewhere Vulkan-related. If you use overlays such as MSI Afterburner, that could be an issue. Just a guess, though.

Disabling Vulkan fixed it on my end, thanks! The game is booting up just fine on 1.8 now. I do use MSI Afterburner, but it's overlay is disabled, so not sure there.

No luck there, disabling vulkan was one of the first things I tried actually. No overlays in use on my end, unless maybe its the steam overlay? But if that's the case it's strange that would only affect certain people.

Hm, that crash log you uploaded has UseVulkanRenderer enabled. Can you upload a new one with it disabled?

@ZachFett Would you be able to test a new build with Vulkan enabled to see if we can get around the crashing issue?

Hmm, it seems like for some reason it launches just fine with 1.8 now. This is after downgrading to 1.7.7.6 to get it to work, I just copied and pasted the 1.8 over into the folder and now it launches. I could maybe uninstall and do a fresh install with 1.8 again if you'd like me to see if it still crashes? If it still crashes I'll get another dump of both vulkan on and off. I tried a fresh install a hundred times before and it crashed no matter what till I downgraded the tweaks mod.

No crashes here with that version!

Nice! Must have been an issue with the older version of DXVK, then. Hmm.
