Easy way to dismiss popup #590

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open any dialog (outline, drop down menu, etc)
2.
3.

What is the expected output?
Touching area outside the dialog should dismiss the dialog.

What do you see instead?
The dialog remains; one needs to press the back key to exit. This is a huge
inconvenience on a tablet since the back button is often out of easy reach.

What version of the product are you using?

On what operating system?
Android 4.1

What device are you using?
Samsung galaxy note 8

Please provide any additional information below.

On my devices dialogs and menus are closed on tap outside. But they are not
Samsung.
We can do smth for dialogs, but menus are out of our possibilities - they are
controlled by system.

The original description is rather vague, sorry... the menu does close with tap
outside the region, the outline dialog definite doesn't close on my Note 8 (it
does close on my Nexus 4 with Android 4.2, though).

However, with the title bar hidden option on, the title bar remains on the
screen after the menu is closed, and it requires a separate double tap to
dismiss title bar. I would expect that, with the title bar hidden option on,
the title bar would disappear as soon as (or with a slight delay but without
user intervention) the menu is dismissed.

We hope it fixed in latest version. Unfortunately we do not have Samsung device
to test. Please check and reopen if it is still reproducible in 2.0.8

Dismissing the outline dialog by touching area outside now works, thanks for
the fix! The title bar still doesn't hide properly, however; should I open a
new issue?

Of course - one problem, one issue.
