I was successfully able to launch the android auto on my Altroz, not very fluidic UI, Spotify songs or amazon music songs usually faces breaks in between and sometimes the songs are skipping 2 to 3 secs in between. Facing frequent disconnections and reconnections.

hi @SurajYOLO, mine is an altroz, but i was never able to get the android auto started in the Head Unit after connecting pi via usb. my issue and the thread could you elaborate the steps you followed to get the connection? it could help me in case i missed something

SurajYOLO commented 5 days ago

Hi @sasha7460, first thing is do you see any green light blinking on the Pi? if yes, do you see any adnroid auto searching loop on your phone? you should have a best in condition SD card flashed with the image file, a high speed and high quality usb to micro usb cable and the micro usb should be inserted to the USB point (Not on the PWR Point) on the Rasp Pi.

@nisargjhaveri My issue is almost solved by Duracell usb to micro usb cable. But what's the RF range of the Pi z 2 w? Do i need to keep my phone very next to the Pi?

SurajYOLO commented 4 days ago

Hi @sasha7460 did it work for you?

The BT and Wifi range is generally fairly good. There should be no problem anywhere inside the car at all, it should be generally much larger than that.

@nisargjhaveri still i feel some jitter while playing music, would it be RPi issue?

sasha7460 commented 3 days ago

Hi @sasha7460 did it work for you?

@SurajYOLO , not in my altroz. the pi works in a different car. i was able to run the android auto in an innova hycross, but not on my tata altroz. this means both the cable and the sd card are good and the flashing is done correctly. that's why i wanted to check if you followed any different step in getting it running on your altroz. as far as i see only the board is different. i am using pi 0w and you are using pi 2 w. @nisargjhaveri , would you know where to look for to identify what could be the problem?

I am using Tata Nexon EV Max 2.0. Used this setup but an facing disconnection whenever there is a sharp bump on the road. The Mobile keeping connecting to 'Android Auto' and on car I see 'Device Not Found' 3-4 times after which the connection never gets re established. How shall I diagnose further? Wired AA works well but my phone has type C cable but Raspberry Pi 0 2w has micro USB, so the connection medium isnt same

Latest observation, the Pi disconnects and reconnects lot of time and feel like the car vibration in altroz making it these. The moment i go on a speed breaker then it disconnects have to find a better way to check and sometime it works very smooth without any issues. And my moto razr 40 ultra heats up like anything.

Exact same observation on elite i20. I thought it was car plug issue

SurajYOLO commented 2 days ago

@samirkape how about normal jitters while playing music from Spotify?

samirkape commented 1 day ago

I use Youtube Music, and obsered jitters happen when I am in a crowded place or near Wifi router (maybe because of 2.4Ghz interference?). It is not that frequent, though.
