A Power BI Visual that allows users to create simple waterfall charts just by using measures. The standard waterfall chart isn't design to create multi step waterfall and requires the underlying data to be in a particular layout. You can create multi step waterfall. This is very useful in Finance report where you need to create causal reports.

Drilldown button not working #75

Open 5Aces opened 2 years ago

5Aces commented 2 years ago

I've noticed that the drill-down button doesn't seem to work anymore. I've updated to the latest version of the custom visual.

This behaviour in in both PBI Desktop, Analysis Services & Premium.

I can't say when it stopped working for me but I only noticed this today.

The drilldown works again when changed to the default waterfall visual.

If you require anymore information, let me know.

drill down issue

Hello, same issue here. Also not able to filter related tables when clicking on one of the bars. It was working fine until last week.

RasithaCLiyanage commented 2 years ago

Same here , we are facing the same issue in our reports

nishantjainuk commented 2 years ago

@5Aces @RasithaCLiyanage @anibalv78 ,

When releasing version 2.0.10.3, I had to upgrade the visual to the latest api which has resulted in these errors. I have fixed these for now and requested for version 2.0.10.4 to be released. Unfortunately, this can take upto 4 weeks for Microsoft to release the new version.

In the mean time, if you need a temporary fix, you can use the beta version of the custom visual, although I highly recommend you to wait for the release from Microsoft

If you do decide to go ahead with the beta version, please note it will import a completely new visual (it will have the same icon) and you will have to update your report and point it to the beta version.

I also recommend that once the new version is released by Microsoft, you repoint your reports to the AppSource version and remove the beta version from your reports.

If you need help how to import a visual directly into your report, please google it.

To download the beta version, please use this link.

Please note that you won't be able to import the beta version in the latest version Power BI Desktop as there is another bug that Microsoft needs to fix. Follow this link to get updates about this issue

Lastly, apologies for breaking this. I will be more careful going forward

Any news on the release date of version 2.0.10.4? Looks like 4 weeks are already over.... Thanks, appreciate your feedback @nishantjainuk

nishantjainuk commented 2 years ago

Quick update, I haven't been able to get this over the line as my fixes failed Microsoft's validation (and the holiday's didn't help). I have made another submission today, hopefully it will go through.

J-Griffington commented 2 years ago

Just had latest version of Power BI Desktop installed - no change yet Any idea when the fix will be implemented?

nishantjainuk commented 2 years ago

Update:

Version 2.0.10.4 has been approved by Microsoft and should be available in about 2 weeks.

@5Aces @stephanbab @RasithaCLiyanage @anibalv78 @VatsalStoic @Billytoh @J-Griffington

This issue should be resolved now with version 2.0.10.4. Can you please check and confirm?

J-Griffington commented 2 years ago

Thanks Nishant - just waiting for my IT dept to update my copy of Power BI! Will confirm ASAP

VatsalStoic commented 2 years ago

Hi Nishant

It is working fine currently. Thanks a lot! Appreciate the efforts.

I have 2 concens:

  1. With future updates, is there an option to not update/retain oldder version...so that the published dashboards do not have downtime?
  2. Please confirm that you/support will be available in future as well...since this visual is critical part of my dashboards...so it would be difficult if we face similar issues in future.

Regards, Vatsal.

Hi Nishant

Mine is now working too - thanks Weirdly though - I'm still waiting for my Power BI Desktop app to be updated, so I've no idea how it's fixed itself!

stephanbab commented 2 years ago

Hi Nishant, Many thanks for the fix, it's properly working for me again as well. Also curious about Vatsal's two questions...
