augmented reality - enable overlays on top of camera picture

Give us a minimal foundation to build simple augmented reality apps.

Suggested scenario on how to do this (?):
- enable real-time camera picture as a screen background.
- a picture overlay could be a canvas -like it already exists- so maybe it is 
just needed to verify that it continues to work on top of a real-time camera 
image, using a transparent canvas background.

I have a big need for that...

Hi. 

I'm also trying to get real-time camera picture as a work space for an 
augmented reality app I am trying to build.

I believe adding the SurfaceView class in the Camera API would allow this. I am 
a designer and not a programmer, so I don't know how hard this is to implement 
in App Inventor, but this would open up a whole realm of new app possibilities 
as well as some great topics for students to learn new programming skills.

For camera applications I also need to overlay the real time camera view with 
an semi transparent picture. It would be nice if the MIT-Group could implement 
this function.
By the way: Such a great code generator!!!
