The "notepad.jnlp" test for Java Web Start fails #2093

This form is only for reporting bugs in App Inventor. Do not use it for
reporting problems with connecting to the phone or opening the Blocks
Editor, getting help with programming, and so on. Use the forums for that.

For bugs:
Use this space to describe the issue in detail. Be sure to include:
- Steps to reproduce the problem.
- What happened. (Don't just say: "It didn't work.")

1. Ensure that your platform, OS and version of java are all current and
up-to-date, per App Inventor instructions.

(I am using Mac OS 10.7 on Intel MacBook Pro, 15", with 8 GB RAM and 750 GB
hard drive. Very few other apps open. Java 1.6. Verified with software update
that I have the latest of all relevant software.)

2. Run the "Java Web Start" test involving the notepad. It fails, per the
screen shot.

3. Try just following the URL from the console. I believe the problem is that
Sun was acquired by Oracle and the URL is broken. I found another one that
might solve the problem:

        http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorialJWS/deployment/webstart/examples/Notepad.jnlp

Enjoy, Mark

Set the Summary to a descriptive phrase, such as "Phone Call component
drops leading zeroes from numbers", not "App Inventor bug".

Attach any material you think would be relevant to diagnosing the problem,
such as:
- The source of your app: use "download to computer" to get the source zip
file
- A screen shot

Don't forget to mention which device you have, and which version of Android
is installed on it. (Find it under Home > Menu > Settings > About
phone.) Please also tell us what Operating System your computer is running
and what browser you were using to access App Inventor.
Also say which version of AppInventor you are running (at bottom right of
the designer window).
