Apps run extremely slow on honeycomb / samsung galaxy tab 7

Hi All,
I've noticed that app inventor apps run extremely slow on my samsung galaxy tab 
using honeycomb.  I have an app that polls the accelerometer as quickly as 
possible.  On the galaxy tab, this is about 0.39 seconds per sample.  I used to 
have a nationite midnite tablet that used a 2 version of android (before it 
died completely), and it would sample at more like 0.05 seconds per sample.  I 
would think the galaxy tab should be faster instead of slower, because it is 
newer, and has a better processor.  Even the simulator samples faster at 0.23 
seconds per sample.

Here is the info on my setup:
Tablet Model Number:  GT-P6120
Android version:  3.2
Kernel version:  2.6.36-P6210UELA3-CL616928se.infra@SEI-44 #3
Build number: HTJ85B.UELA3 P6210UELA3

For the simulator, right now the setup is:
Model number:  google_sdk
Android version:  2.2
Kernel version:  2.6.29-00261-g0097074-dirty digit@digit #20
Build number:  google_sdk-eng 2.2 FRF91 43546 test-keys

My nationite midnite died, so I can't get the info on it, but I know it was 
android version 2 of some sort.

Oh, I left out the app inventor version.  It is:
Built July 23 2012 Version: v127.

Also I had seen some other links where people had similar problems with 
honeycomb, so maybe honeycomb has some compatibility problem with app inventor.

I'm having the same exact issue with Samsung galaxy tab 7 running Android 
4.1.1.  Extremely slow updates for accelerometers and also buttons in same app.

And the same app works blindingly fast on an LG Thrill with Android 2.x.
