Huh. We can consider this. Personally, I think I'd be annoyed with most apps if
they removed my notification bar, but I can imagine that there are cases where
the user would want this. Removing the app title bar seems less intrusive.

Immersive games are usually locked horizontal orientation at full screen.
And the AI has attracted alot of old 8 bit programmers to pull their old games
out of mothballs.

It would be nice if they could at least make the title bar have a "visible"
check box.

perhaps the ability to add an setting (check box) to my app allowing the end
user to go full screen instead of forcing one or the other. Sometimes I find
it necessary to see my notification bar, other times, I would rather the
program have more screen.

Yep, for any game to be immersive the notification bar needs to be hidden. This
feature needs to be implemented. Ideally the abillity to hide or show the
notification bar through the use of a checkbox, as mentioned above would be the
best solution

Changing the app title bar status with a "visible" check box is an excelent
idea!
Please implement this feature as soon as possible.

I was shocked to see you couldn't hide this. Though I would agree that I would
like the notification bar to remain in many utility apps for games it is
imperative that we hide this. It destroys the feeling of the game to have the
title and notification bars, and increases clutter.

This request seems to be replicated in 1013, but I'd like to be able to hide
both the title bar and the notification bar. There are apps where network
connectivity and notification are needed, and other apps like games where it
would be great to hide it to keep all the attention focused on the action on
screen. A check box for both would be great.

hello, I wish the title bar and the info bar can be hidden. Especially for
application development of reading comics and other images.
Thank you giving this chance. I thought the Screen1.Title function could do so
but all i tryed can do what i thinking ^^.

Yea i was testing my new game today.Image sprites are supposed to disappear
when they hit the top edge but because of the notification bar + the title bar
and the background being black it looks like it is just randomly disappearing a
cm from the top.

I'd like to add a "me, too" to the requests for an option to disable the title
bar. I'd really love to make some simple games with App Inventor, but that
huge grey bar at the top of the screen completely kills it. People have been
asking for this for years now. This is a very small thing that would add a
huge amount of flexibility! I sincerely urge the developers to add this
feature.
Thanks.

Me too! There are a so many uses for being able to manage the full screen. I
currently really wish we could control the display brightness as well as toggle
wake/sleep but just being able to remove the top bars would be a decent
substitute.

OMG Google.
Are you so lazy to add this possibility?!?!
This thread is opened since 3 years !!! And you have done nothing! SHAME!
But you made sooo many april fools this years!
Yes, there is enough time to make april fools but not enough time to make a
update for app inventor to make apps fullscreen?
Every Java Eclipse User can easy set up a fullscreen application.
But we with your "APP INVENTOR" cannot do this !!! WHY!??! C'mon,
give me a reason why you do not add this possibility! THERE IS NO REASON!
Please add this now I NEED IT sooo much. Or make a possibility to add java
scripts. This would solve our problem too. 3 years are gone and you have done
nothing! It's time now! I please you again. Add it! Pleaasseee!

> "OMG Google."
App Inventor was dropped by Google over a year ago and MIT took it on.
>"Are you so lazy to add this possibility?!?!"
The people who work on the source code of App Inventor do not get payed.
If you want to do make a modification to app inventor the code is open source
and you can make your oven version of the software.
There are a number of utilities to make the app full screen from app inventor.
Try check the Google group forums

I'm working on a text adventure game called FootSteps. I agree that it would be
awesome if I didn't have to design things with the bar at the top.
If somebody finds a way around this, please let me know! You can contact me on

Forcewavellc (comment #30): If you are a developer – with a capital ‘D’
– then maybe you could implement this feature.
Anyway people, App Inventor is very limited. I do think it should have the
ability to remove the titlebar, but even then you'll hit other limitations
sooner or later. I seriously recommend that if you want to do serious
application development, or anything above the limitations of App Inventor,
that you learn how to use the Android SDK.
The SDK and Android APIs are extensively well-documented, and the tutorials are comprehensive. They'll teach you how to do much more than what you can do with App Inventor, and some of that knowledge is transferable to development for other systems. You can find the tutorials at: https://developer.android.com/training/index.html
I stopped using App Inventor over 3 years ago (a while before the transition from Google to MIT), and I don't know why I still have this starred. I'm unstarring this due to the excessive number of ‘me too’-type comments on this issue.

Większość ludzi którzy wykorzystają app inventor do programowania w
Pozdrawiam i owocnej pracy.
