Google Earth v5 not showing Photos

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use of Google Earrthe v5
2. Run gpisync
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
On clicking thumnail photos on Google Eath expect enlarged copy of Photo.
In stead get enlarged box full of white space.
kml file works in Google Earth v4 but not v5

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
gpisync v1.27
Google Earth v5.0.11337.1968 (beta)

Thanks Rich for the feedback, I've just downloaded Google Earth 5 and I see now 
the
same problem. I'll investigate that as soon as possible.

This may not be caused by gpicsync.  We just found this issue (today) using a 
similar
program I wrote several years ago (photo2GPS).  We've kind of narrowed it down 
to the
picture format and GE v5 - seems to draw a blank when using output from a Pentax
Optio W30, even when we recreate the description paths while in GE.  It works 
fine
with output from a Canon camera and in GE v4.  

Opening and saving the image to a new file then pointing to it seems to work, 
but not
always...

Here's an update to some detective work.  Within the KML file make sure the .jpg
extension for the reference to the photo is lower case.  It's ok if the actual 
file
extension is uppercase, just not in the KML.  This only seems to matter when 
used
within GE v5.

Why are the extensions upper case in the KML?  When we downloaded the photos 
using a
card reader it transferred the files with upper case extensions, using a USB 
directly
from the camera saves them with lower case extensions.  They didn't work when 
we used
the card reader because my program writes the kml links using the same name and 
case
as the original file, I suspect gpicsync does as well.  To be safe I plan to 
re-write
my program to force lower case extensions within the kml links, the same might 
work
for gpicsync.

Hope this helps.  If you have a direct link to Google, let them know.  They may 
have
a reason for this, and I don't know if affects all machines, but for me I call 
it a
glitch.

Just to add to my Comment 4 above. I get an error report when GE v5 is opening 
the 
gpicsync generated KML saying 'Unknown element <scale>'. Selecting Ignore all 
seems 
to work OK.

For info I've made a test exe here:

On windows it lower case the picture name in the kml.

Thanks to tell me if it's ok or not with your GE version.

show in

this capability for quite some time and was very excited when I found it.  The

Slide the timeline slider to the extreme right. This fixed my problem and was 
easier than re-installing the application ! Acknowledgements to divzero.
