Code Review of LinearViewer #57

I'd like to get a code review of the Linear Viewer component (and all of it's children LinearAnnotationGutter, LinearSelection, etc).

We have an issue to track the implementation of improvements, this issue is solely concerned with the review of the component.

In order of importance, I'm looking for:

1) Outright bugs in core logic 2) Performance bottlenecks 3) Code Smells/Refactoring opportunities 4) Styling Issues
