Discussed offline and settled on a package name of ivfit for an lmfit-inspired word that represents "interactive, visual" fitting.
Also discussed changing the Github project name to the same. The latter would obsolete this issue, so I'd propose to update the repo first and close both issues, then push the repo to a new Github project.
