I would love to see documentation improvement for nix. Unfortunately, it's not admissible to have a project only about documentation. Here is a quote from a Google employee and Program Administrator, Stephanie Taylor, taken from the Google Summer of Code Mentors List:
Google Summer of Code is a coding program first and foremost. The student project should be primarily coding. Yes, if there is design as well that is fine. But if it is primarily about design and not coding then that is not appropriate for GSoC.
If someone would like to start a Summer of Design program then that would be great. This comes up every year and there seems to be some interest so maybe another org would like to start that initiative.
As mentioned by others in this thread you can not have a student project that is primarily documentation.
