Are you following the right branch?

Is there an existing issue for this?

Issue description

I'm trying to create a .desktop entry of type "Link" like this:

xdg.desktopEntries.test-link-entry = {
    name = "test-link";
    type = "Link";
    url = "https://example.com";
}

and get error:

error: The option `home-manager.users.username.xdg.desktopEntries.test-link-entry.url' does not exist.

An oversight. The url field wasn't included in the beginning, since it wasn't supported by the function we use to generate the file. Since then they've added support for a number of fields, so I'll submit a PR to include them. In the meantime, try this:

xdg.desktopEntries.test-link-entry = {
    name = "test-link";
    type = "Link";
    settings.URL = "https://example.com";
}

This is still broken. Also the workaround no longer works as:

  xdg.desktopEntries.test-link-entry = {
    name = "test-link";
    type = "Link";
    settings.URL = "https://example.com";
  }

Yields:

Error: key "Terminal" is present in group "Desktop Entry", but the type is "Link" while this key is only valid for type "Application"
