Trying to specify i3 entirely in home manager causes a big issue on new installs.
no ability to start session without installing i3, so cant run home manager.
Cant install i3 without starting session and running home manager.
Catch 22
I understand it is possible to simply put the home manger module as an import to your system module, but if you want keep them separate, this leads to new issues.
I thought, to fix this, simply nixos-enter from install media before rebooting into the new drive, and run home manager. That way home manger is pre installed and I can just boot into the target machine with everything working. Easy right? NOPE. I tried so many option flags etc.... nothing....
See the link for more info on my issues doing that....
Is there any ways to do this? If there is a way to do it, is it also then possible to add a --root or --chroot or --remote-install option to home manager?
