GROUPR cannot process neutron disappearance cross section (MT=101) #148

Open gregfi opened 4 years ago

I'm using njoy21 to process the IRDFF-II pointwise data file. The file is available for download here. For the cadmium cover material cross section, total neutron disappearance is represented with the "rarely used" MT=101 reaction type. Attempting to have GROUPR process this file fails with an error: "error in findf mat4800 mf 3 mt101 not on tape".

As a workaround, if I manually edit the evaluation and change MT=101 to MT=102 with a text editor, I'm able to extract the desired cross section data.

@gregfi I have confirmed that we can reproduce the same error that you are seeing. It's not clear to me yet whether this is an NJOY bug or whether this is problem with the evaluation. We will look into this further.

The original ENDF file that was referenced from IRDFF-II is fairly large. I've extracted only material 4800 and have added it to this issue.
