first icon smaller than the others, changes on theme change

Please provide any additional information below.
The first icon on the dock it's, for no apparent reason, lower than the
other icons. When I change my icon theme on GNOME the icon height, and
size, fixes.

attaching a screencast demoing the problem. Weird indeed. My icon theme is 
Tangerine,
at 24 seconds I switch to another icon theme and quickly switched back to 
Tangerine,
and the icon sizes changed.
