Can not start kernel (even after restarting) . #38

I have not been able to start the kernel even after restarting the computer. I received this popup error:

The kernel has stopped due to the following error: The first packet is not a InputNamePacket; packet=Message[acket[SetOptions, optnf]

For me the issue has been resolved by downgrading to WolframEngine 13.0.1 (be sure to remove the old Kernel completely).

What resolved this issue for me is deactivating the official Wolfram extension (bc it runs a wolfram kernel instance in the background). It works in version13.3.
