Diggle et al.’s “Analysis of Longitudinal Data”
There is no single prescription for making effective graphical displays of longitudinal data, but the following are a few simple guidelines:
- show as much of the relevant raw data as possible rather than only data summaries;
- highlight aggregate patterns of potential scientific interest;
- identify both cross-sectional and longitudinal patterns as distinguished in Section 1.1;
- make easy the identification of unusual individuals or unusual observations.
