Timeout when choosing Watch TV #29

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Which version of MythDroid were you using?
0.4
Which version of MDD?
N/A
Which version of MythTV were you using? (e.g. mythfrontend --version)
0.24
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start frontend with a Huappauge HD-PVR as the default live-tv device.
2. Choose Watch TV using a Hauppauge using the mythdroid app.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Remote functions should become available with the frontend enabling the HD-PVR.
Instead, the HD-PVR is enabled and live-tv starts after locking in a signal
which takes around 8-10 seconds. Mythdroid then appears to timeout just as the
signal is locked on the front-end and it returns to the main menu. The
front-end also exits "live-tv". Watching recorded shows works. It appears
that mythdroid has a hard-coded value of around 8 seconds (I think).

If you are reporting a 'force close' issue, please attach relevant logs
(e.g. from 'Log Collector', available via the market).

Please provide any additional information below.
If possible, add a parameter in "Settings" to allow the timeout value to be set
to a different value.

Hi. The default receive timeout for frontend connections is 10 seconds.
Presumably entering livetv works ok without MythDroid? Does entering livetv via
MythDroid work intermittently or does it always fail? Thanks, foobum.

I pulled the code from the svn into Eclipse and built/deployed a new .apk on
12/30 and I thought that helped, but a couple days later I was experiencing the
same thing, except sometimes "Live TV" would still continue even though
Mythdroid would return to the main menu. So to answer you question, I'd say it
is intermittent. No problems with mythmusic. The gestures feature is sweet.

Hi, is this still a problem? I think long time to lock via the HD-PVR was
addressed in mythtv?
