Should clear ticker/show spinner while syncing to Google Reader for the first time #174

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Steps:
1. Delete Snackr database
2. Start Snackr
3. Choose to use the sample feed set (or import an OPML file)
4. Let the ticker run for a bit
5. Connect to Google Reader from the Options popup

Result: Ticker continues running, but is stuttery, and items from the old
feed list continue to scroll across for a little while. Also, it will pause
the first time you sync read items if you have a lot of read items in
Google (not as bad as it used to be, but still noticeable).

We should probably clear the ticker and go back to the spinner (like on
initial startup) when first syncing to GR.

Snackr version, platform, AIR runtime version:
SVN r80, OS X Leopard, 1.1

Might want to consider fixing this before we make our first wide release of the
GR
stuff. I don't think we need to fix it before making the test build though
(I'll just
release-note it).

Did you choose to merge feed lists or use GR's feed list?

I used GR's feed list.

Marking this as FixBy-0.4. I think once we fix these startup issues (and any
major
bugs other people run into), we should go ahead and release 0.4 as an official
build.
