PCB pin socket for MH-Z19 CO2 sensor #17

Hi!

Saw your installation video - considering the CO2 sensor is the most expensive part and the B version seems more difficult to get, along with several different versions (and bad clones)-

Was thinking of revisiting the ability to make this piece removable (in case I need to swap sensors due to fake or something else - even some Z19C versions are being rebadged as Z19B). Making it removable will most likely alter the overall thickness and height of the device from the pcb. I've also been looking into PCB pin socket/receptacles to see if it's possible to minimize the height difference.

Thanks for this project!

Hi. I have the same idea but in case I completely redesign the board. My idea was to use surface-mounted receptacles with a bottom insert. Of course, this needs a new PCB. I guess you can also use some female receptacles now but it will make the whole assembly a bit thicker.

Regarding the sensors - recently I was using the C version and it's good. It has the same pinout as B. For the rest, I don't know. In order to be sure you have the original buy from the official Winsen store in aliexpress. These are original sensors for sure. Otherwise, with the other random sellers, you risk getting the counterfeit item as I got once a batch of 5 pieces.
