For Mojave the terminal has, by default, no access to the time machine volume any more. #15

Apple does not allow the Terminal to access certain folders such as the Library or the time machine volume, by default. timedog exits with an error "Can't open directory".

The manual could point out the problem.

An instruction what to do can be found here: http://osxdaily.com/2018/10/09/fix-operation-not-permitted-terminal-error-macos/

Thanks for finding the solution. I've added a troubleshooting section to the README.
