Normalization as an entity linking annotation tool #1197

Hi there, I was considering using Brat as an entity linking annotation framework via its normalization feature, so users can click on a portion of the text and annotate it with the corresponding wikipedia id for that word.

However, I followed the instructions on the webpage and the normalization tool doesn't seem to well. First, the corpus that it comes pre loaded with is very out dated. Are there any instructions on how that file should be generated (e.g. example-data/normalisation/Wiki.txt)? Also, the links for images in that sample use freebase's api, which has been discontinued. If I replace to an api call that gets an an image (say from some wikidata api) would that work ?

I am also wondering the same thing - I see this in the home page slides - where you can hover over the item and it shows the google page - how does one configure this.

Not sure about the images, but it seems you could configure the underlying KB as you like -> https://brat.nlplab.org/normalization.html
