Multiple icons in taskbar

Didn't see it posted already, but every system that is running this routine has the same problem, it minimizes all windows to taskbar icons, leaving 2-10 icons at times. The only way I've been able to fix it is to turn off the plugin, close additional windows, then reopen..

Instead of creating icons when it closes, leave an icon at the bottom at all times, and double-clicking could bring the master application into focus, or open it's first window if minimized..

I'll second that. Steps to reproduce (Postbox 3, Windows 7)

• right click on any message
• choose Open Message in New Window
• close that window

I am experiencing the same problem using Thunderbird 45.3.0. If I write a new message (opens in new window) there is no apparent way to close the window without minimizing it. Even once the message is sent, the window persists. If I drag a tab off of the main window I get the same problem. I become permanently stuck with two inbox windows and no way of combining them or closing one. Finally had to disable the addon, which is disappointing.

Same issue here. I see this has been a long-standing bug.

Dev, is there no hope of addressing this?
