Problems with Thunderbird 12 #82

Hi, most of the functionality of this great addon has been disabled or broken in Thunderbird 12.

I cannot reproduce the issue you're describing. Can you please elaborate on your OS (incl. 32/64bit), list of other extensions and any additional steps to reproduce that might shed some light on this issue.

Also, have you checked that MinTrayR is indeed the culprit and not another add-on? The symptoms you're describing sound suspiciously non-MinTrayR related, as this add-on does not in any way influence, observer or otherwise handle new mails arrivals, nor does it have anything to do with the new message icon... However, other add-ons have the potential to make MinTrayR fail....

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, Service Pack 1 (latest updates) 32-bit Thunderbird.

Installed addons: Contact Tabs (v1.7) Enigmail (v1.4.1) QuoteCollapse (v0.9)

If I remove the MinTrayR addon. Thunderbird doesn't play the new message -sound when checking for new message nor does it highlight the local folders -folder.

I removed MinTrayR, rebooted Thunderbird, removed everything MinTrayR related from about:config, Rebooted Thunderbird, installed MinTrayR and now the "local folders" -folder doesn't get highlighted when new mail is being checked by Thunderbird. There was a LOT of trash attributes left by previous versions of MinTrayR and even the original MinTray.

New issues:

EDIT: If this works on a clean installation/profile for Thunderbird, then it's an issue with the general attributes the addon is using in about:config, as in other than it's own. Those have either been altered over time or by some other addon that has been updated recently.

Can you please try the following:

PS: I meant to ask: Do you use AERO GLASS or a basic theme?

krypt0 commented 12 years ago

I managed to fix the issue and everything works perfectly now.

For some reason all the extension attributes were user defined attributes for MinTrayR and all other addons. Restoring the default for any of them made them null and they got deleted on Thunderbird reboot. Too bad Thunderbird doesn't let me show what attributes I changed recently so I don't know which attribute exactly caused this to happen in the first place.

I do know that xpinstall.whitelist.add was user defined and blank, restored it to default, did the same for a bunch of other attributes that were user defined for no apparent reason, reinstalled MinTrayR and now it works.

I use the Aero Glass theme if that's important information. I'll close the ticket as I am unable provide any more information on the subject. I should have made a backup of my profile before attempting to (successfully) fix the issue to locate the culprit :(

Glad it worked out for you.
