The element currently has optional "id" and "center-code" attributes.
At NMDP, for operational intake, these are both required. But the format of the incoming 'id' can now vary depending on the source of the sample (international vs internal 9-digit DID vs GRID vs ???)
Proposal to add an additional attribute called something like "id-type" where the type of ID, for example "GRID", can be specified. This would allow processing applications to easily apply format rules to the id field as well as route the test result correctly without having to guess at the type of ID that was submitted.
