Unable to repro on Radeon RX 580 (27.20.12033.2007). Can you post your system info here? This issue seems to be hardware / driver specific. (I recommend nmrih_support_helper
in console so we'll get the NMRiH specific info as well.)

Changed tag to 'assets', could be some material var. This crash seems to occur with Intel drivers.
Hello! I'm Sebython from Steam. Thanks for linking my post here!
I'm here to add that screen freezing seems to happen more likely if I shoot with CZ858 without scope.
Is there a way to fix the screen freezing without having to leave the game?
Does this still occur in 1.12.3?
Hello, I'll report if I face a crash while using CZ858.
No longer happening with CZ858, now happening with JAE-700
Hello, since writing the previous comment in 29.7.2022 I haven't encountered a crash while using CZ858. I was not sure if it was because of some driver updates I have installed or because of some updates made to the game, but now, like @dysphie said in November, JAE-700 caused, and is still today causing similar crashes as CZ858 cause before: Screen freezes, but you are still able to interact with the game.
Wielding the CZ858 can cause your screen to freeze indefinitely, specially while shooting More details here https://steamcommunity.com/app/224260/discussions/2/4931980436579097298/ and I've also experienced this myself
