Paperless point of care mode (Real-time data entry)
The default mode is the paper-based mode (retrospective data entry), with a radio button to activate the paperless point of care mode (Real-time data entry) mode if required.
A fully optimized paperless point of care mode especially on forms requiring multiple providers to fill different sections at different points in the clinic workflow.
For example 1.
A physician/prescriber generates pharmacy form and fills regimen, drug name, strength, dose, frequency and duration prescribed, signs and partially saves the form
The prescriber cannot fill the duration dispended, quantity dispensed, dispenser's signature or complete form.
The pharmacist/dispenser opens the same form fills duration dispended, quantity dispensed, signs and completes the form.
The dispenser cannot add new drug or change regimen, drug name, strength, dose, frequency duration prescribed, and prescriber's signature
Example 2.
A physician/prescriber generates laboratory form and selects required tests, signs and partially saves the form
The prescriber cannot fill the results, or laboratory scientist's signature or complete form.
The laboratory scientist/technologist opens the same form fills test results, signs and completes the form.
The laboratory scientist/technologist cannot add a new test, change required test or prescriber's signature
Example 3
A prescriber or dispenser can generate adherence assessment form and do adherence assessment
ART nurse or adherence counselor can complete the adherence counseling sections of the form
Some facilities have the ART nurse or pharmacy doing both assessment and counseling
There are other forms like tb screening, care and monitoring form, contact and care tracking form, care termination form and care card etc
Issue
NMRS currently supports only retrospective data entry and does not meet for some facilities' requirements.
NMRS needs to have 2 modes of operation;
